I came across Catherine Rayner's ERNEST in Nomad Books on Fulham Road about a year ago. It is a very simple and a very wonderful idea. Just brilliant in fact.

Ernest is a moose to big for the book. Its not that it is a small book, Ernest is just a very big moose. After several pages of moose contortions an energetic chipmunk comes up with a very cunning plan. The book unfolds into a gigantic page and there is Ernest, all of him for the first and last time.
